Did you know it is easy to make your own house hold cleaning products? Here’s an easy, step-by-step to making your own citrus vinegar cleaner.

You will need:

  • 1 jar with a lid.
  • White distilled vinegar
  • Organic citrus fruit (I like to use oranges but you can use any kind)
  • Some kind of straining device (I use an automotive funnel with a screen in it)

Step 1.
Eat your citrus fruit. It’s super good for you. If you can’t eat an entire package of oranges in a day, you can freeze the peels until you have enough to fill a jar, at which point, fill the jar with the peels.

Step 2.
After putting the peels in, fill your jar all the way up with white distilled vinegar. Be sure to screw the lid on tight!

Step 3.
There’s a bit of a wait involved with this. I like to give the vinegar about two weeks to really absorb the citrus scent and and oil from the peels. It’s always good to display the jar in your kitchen somewhere. That way when people ask, you can tell them about this awesome article!

Step 4.
After about two weeks, strain the solution. Try to get as much of the solid matter out of the vinegar as you can.

Step 5.
Dilute the solution. I usually fill a spray bottle with about 50% vinegar solution, 50% water. It makes it a little less harsh and it still cleans really well.

Step 6.
Get to cleaning! This cleaner can be used on any surface (except marble).
